Underground plastic slurry pipe

It's all 160mm pipe in 6 meter lengths. They all have a female end on them
with a rubber seal in them so no need to glue. The concrete is only needed at 90 bends etc

Pipes that were put through the bank of the lagoon at work were butt fusion welded together. From what they said the joins are as strong as the pipe once they've cooled so you've effectively got 1 length of pipe. I assume it would work ok for an umbilical system

All my 315mm is fusion welded,it was delivered in 12m lengths.

Reviving this thread because we are looking for a cost effective way of piping the overflow from our slurry separator back to the reception pit, thinking of 8inch inside diameter to ensure we don't build up any back pressure, it needs to run about 60 ft all above ground ?

Don’t know a thing about your system, but isn’t the overflow gravity? If you need 8”, I would look at down rating your delivery pump, as you are wasting an awful lot of electricity just circulating slurry. More than will be needed just to keep your reception pit stirred!

Yes the return is all gravity, I think you are probably correct regarding the pump but we have a "slalom channel" system and regrettably we put in a larger pump to feed the separator and to drive material around the channels to keep them moving. With the benefit of hindsight I think we should have put in a propeller to drive the slurry around and a smaller pump to feed the separator!

Some pumps can run at a lower rate. Have a word with your electrician, he may be able to wire it so it runs slow for the separator, and can be turned up for agitating.
