Apologies for putting here but wanted good visibility (admin please move if needed)

Does anyone have a location agreement for allowing filming on your farm/property. It is in our woodland and we have agreed a price but wanted to cover myself from a liability where possible.

Any pointers on what to ask for etc greatly appreciated

I’ve been involved in several of these and all legit filming companies will give you an agreement to sign basically a ‘release document ‘ detailing terms and price. Beware Beware the film industry is full of sh1!s , they all want to be your best mate until they have what they want. If you are at all in doubt cash up front.

That's what I'm after......The release bit. They will have to pay up front as want a grave digging and shoring up etc. I'm not paying out for that myself so will need cleared funds before the mini digger and driver arrive

The location manager/Back office should provide you with all the documentation .
Not much use you waving a document at them as they won’t sign anything until it’s been through the legal team.

Just remember you are in charge and don’t let them push you around . Don’t fall into the old trap of ‘doing them a favour ‘

In a past life I was involved with quite a few film co's. I had a 'menu' of charges along with a daily/weekly charge. I also had a damage deposit cheque in my hand to cover any possible angle on this too. I was always on site for 1, food, 2, to make sure those folk who needed something could be attended to immediately. 3, water. The catering needs this. I had over fifteen years of repeat business & am still in touch with some of the location managers of several co's. These are the first folk you will meet.
Be up early, work hard & enjoy the day/week & the following repeat business if you are up for this interesting work. They are not ogres or out to take you for a ride & you'll have a good working relationship. All those you will see & enjoy on your TV I've hosted inc the Chuckle Brothers & Hammer Horror! Sadly after Vincent Price & Peter Cushing had retired so I never got to meet either of these legends.
Cash the cheque BEFORE filming starts if you're not sure. There may be some fly-by-night chancers but a proper outfit is & has to be incredibly well run from the very first day, just getting the x9 artics in , food wagons, wardrobe, green rooms, electrickery is no easy task. See their insurance doc. With early Midsomer & Mr Nettles I had a + £10 mil chit for cover & they checked the buildings over.
Enjoy!
SS

PS. You'll need more space than you realise for 'parking' & perhaps a machine on site that could 'aid' an artic out of a sticky situation. no messing about with a MF 135 here, a proper tow!

It's much smaller scale than what you describe... starting to think it's not worth bothering with. Have pmd you

Have done similar, they were tricky and slippery. Insisted on money up front, good job.

They went on to do the film but didn't pay ANYBODY else for their work on site, court case followed, company dissolved and many lost out.

Good advice above, they should be supplying agreement
