Used to be the case that the Uk would see the weather on the Eastern seaboard of the States 10 days later, can we look forward to something a bit colder shortly, what does the weather thread say?

I set in the middle of the country and it is 13below zero for the days high and wind is 20-45 mph. 8 inches of blowing snow makes for a cool start to the new year. This is as cold as we have had in almost 25 years. This will move deep into our south where people have no means to cope. Areas that may only see ice a couple of times in a cold winter are going to drop into the single digits. This has a chance of causing much misery and some deaths.

My friend Keith Head, who lives in Saskatoon sent me an Email yesterday saying it was nice and cool ,Environment Canada forecasting over night temp of -38 but with wind chill -49. The point of his Email, was that they had a surprise visitor in their town garden last Friday,a Coyote up their crab apple tree eating the last of the apples!!! He attached a pic of it, which I will try and manage to post on the forum. Keith was not in a flap as if the world was going to end, life goes on very much as normal just a bit slower.

I was out there in a blizzard, stuck in a trailer house and no electric = no heating. We slept in as many layers and blankets as we coould, we packed snow under the trailer to stop drafts underneath and we pinned a big thick blanket over the door

That was only -20

I live in south central Colorado and the temp has not risen up to freezing since mid November, we had around 16 inches of snow and its still around, only 20% humidity though and sunshine everyday by 10-00am I have even seen guys in a t shirt...........its the low humidity and the stillness in the air that helps.

Hope there will be plenty around still in late February/early march in the colorado rockies!
