Us Trade Deals and Boris Johnson

Of course farming will be sacrificed for trade deals. We are unimportant politically so long as there is cheap food on the shelves of the supermarkets

Can we adapt and survive? Possibly but not with ever greater restrictions that would appear to be coming down the line.

Living with it is going to be my son’s and grandsons problem and I wish them good luck

Oh dear, politicians eh; just when you think it's possible you might trust them, along they come and show you why a polecat looks good next to them.

I’m shocked to hear this. At what point, in the last few decades, did you start to think it possible that any one of them might be trustworthy? :scratchhead:

The simple truth is that only a very small minority of the electorate are involved in the agricultural industry, so what they do to ‘us’ really doesn’t bother those who’s only interest is clinging on to the trappings of power. Far more important to seem like they are looking after the urban majority.:(

Well, you know, Boris Johnson gets elected and you think, at least we've got someone who will actually lead, and then it all falls apart, and the country is like rudderless, like the Marie Celeste.

Because Boris Johnson was born in America we all know where his allegiance is. He just cares about the country of his birth not the country he leads. He's just like that half American quisling Winston Churchill and look how he sold us down the river.

This was obvious to anyone the day the brexit result was announced - it wouldn’t have made any difference who was in power, we were always going to be used as a bargaining chip to try and help financial services. And subsidies were always going when we left the pro-ag EU.

Did you really see Boris like that? I certainly didn’t, I saw him as a self publicist who just repeated the snappy soundbites fed to him by his puppet masters. A man who likes the sound of his own voice far too much and revels in the attention this gives him. He, and his political style, is the reason I didn’t vote for the a Conservatives for the first time in my life.
The current shambles, and the headlong rush to a no-deal Brexit, comes as no surprise to me.:(

Curious to know how Churchill 'sold us down the river'?

True, and I feel roughly about Johnson the same as you, but I feel that having a leader who could do a bit of leading for a change would be good for the country. Johnson may have many poor qualities but it seemed that about a year ago he might be able to deliver, but I now feel that he has no idea what to do with the power he's been given, and no agenda.

Johnson has no power, nor has he a clue what to do with it if he did he did have any. Weirdo Cummings runs this wretched government.
