Used rotary parlours

Anybody ever fitted a used rotary parlour or selling one. Or do I put in a new or nearly new big swing over rapid exit. What’s everyone’s thoughts.
Cheers in advance

Heard of a platform that was taken apart and it sprang when the bolts were undone, not sure if they got it together again. There's a lot of work done by the running gear too, not sure I'd want a second hand one

Is the actual platform that expensive. Surely the cost is in the building and any electronics you add.
If buying second hand i think i would still be tempted on new platform and running gear and re using the rest.

No experience with moving a rotary but I really can’t see how it would be even remotely cost effective. It would surely have to be nearly new and bought for scrap price. Unsure if a poured deck is even possible to move.

A used fullwood concrete platform was ripped out of my place and put back together down the road, it’s been milked in 3 times a day for the last 10 years, it’s a 40 point and o think he paid 50k for everything. It has had its problems though, more to do with the rubbish drive units than the platform. Would I do it myself, definitely not, if the guys who refit it get it out of line just slightly then it will never run right and then who do you hold responsible?

How does that work? Does all the concrete have to be jackhammered off? It would be fairly straight forward from then on I guess.

A guy who used to do a bit of nutrition work for us spoke of someone who shifted a rotary and other than the hassle of breaking out the concrete it had worked well.

From memory (so happy to be corrected) the price of a rotary and the equivalent sized rapid exit were similar but the rapid exit had a smaller footprint.

Yep you got it, jack hammered off and cut into quarters, I remember seeing a few in NZ moved and they just took the roof off, welded some cross supports in and picked it up in one piece with a crane

Personally I’d put in new,the things I’d look for most is reliably and someone who could concrete with pin point precision.

Nobody wanted to know about the groundwork for a local one as they had to be within 5mm.

I’ve had a measure up and we have the perfect spot for a 50point,I can’t get enthusiastic about it though.
