Useless bt....

No landline for over 2 weeks or broadband. One engineer been out said it's an under ground issue. Nobody been back despite keep calling there complaints line. Keep getting fobbed off be 24/48hrs. Latest says 5 days. It's our home line but also our business phone and Internet. Could be loosing work as our Vodafone is so bad here I had a boost box plugged in our broadband.
At wits end, any suggestions?

If it is underground problem try checking the joint boxes in the manholes, had one which was full of water the seals sometimes leak and moisture gets in.

We have 3 fibre broadband connections to 3 different properties and 1 was cut off for 2 months the other 3 months because seem idiot cancelled it by mistake at BT! Got a claim going through for £6500 in losses and expenses! Had 19 engineer call outs and 40 hours on the phone to sort out!

Thanks I think that's a good idea. Wouldn't mind if they WILL fix it is 5 days but it's the fobbing of that's making us mad. Been calling every 2 days for almost 2 weeks.

I do not know anyone who has not had success by emailing him.

If they are not told what is broken down the chain, they can not attempt to put it right.

I think @chaffcutter and @Rob Holmes a two of many who have gotten results from emailing them.

Be careful of mentioning using a residential line for business as they will likely tell you that you should have a business line instead and then you'd have it fixed faster....

BT Business is what we've got, I pay £2.50 a month supplement for 48 hour critical cover, basically they'll fix a problem within that time frame. Worth looking at

Be polite, be concise and email [email protected] CEO of BT
and copy in [email protected] CEO of Openreach

Would recommend this - We had problems transferring a line to a new property, was really getting to me, no departments would talk to each other and everyone blaming someone else. Emailed Gavin Patterson and within 5 mins had an email from his secretary saying it had been passed to the high escalation complaints team and very quickly resolved after that without a lot of hassle.

I emailed Mr Patterson late one evening, and by 8 the next morning he replied and the problem was sorted that day. Even more impressive is that it was a Saturday.
