Vaderstad rapid pre-em markers

We have new discs, have checked the ram and it is working but the markers just don't seem to mark?

Doesn't seem like there is really any weight pushing on the discs so they are just floating along the surface
Anyone got any clever ideas ?

Someone had bolted s couple of decent sized chunks of steel onto the one we ran in the spring and it left a good mark

They usually mark one side better than the other. Best thing I did was change them for a ducks foot flint. Made a definite mark on both then. Very easy to modify and pulls itself into the ground a bit more if you adjust the angle correctly
