As the title suggests looking for a bit of advice on using my new Maize drill.
If it ever stops raining/ warms up............
Looking to follow our 6m P. Harrow round, doing 60-70 acres a day with a 6 row machine. We also have JD RTK on farm so looking to use section control on headlands.
Just looking for any tips or things to look out for.
How do people get on with the iPad control, it looks great, just hope it's as simple as the manual says.
There's no info on the section control in the manual, any ideas?

The section control does not work through the iPad but through the ISOBUS and tractor controller. As mentioned you require a Trimble FMX box Or the latest JD box.
The iPad will then become a slave.
Hope this helps?

Thanks for the replies. I'll blame the rep who sold me the drill!
He forgot to tell me that the iPad controller for the drill just controls the drill functions. Unlike our Amazone spinner which just uses the JD RTK signal to give a location to the hardware, we need the JD Section Control unlock as well to give full functionality.
Anyone who knows JD will realise that these unlocks never come cheap!!
Vaderstad coming on Wednesday to set drill up, looking forward to cracking on with some Maize drilling next week.
