I looked in the cab of a 155m I think it was. I was quite surprised that it seemed to look quite a cramped cabThe r series has plenty of room in the cab imo
Aye its quite a bit smaller. Wouldnt bother me personally as long as there was no passenger in it with me, which now im gettin "more mature " i dont like havin a passenger with me as i cant be bothered havin to talk to them so that suits me fineI looked in the cab of a 155m I think it was. Remap it and turn radio upValtra cab comfort and layout? Brilliant indeed
Valtra Susi engine economy and noise level?....... Not so brilliant (!)
what makes are you comparing it to comfort wise? some people say claas and deutz have better suspension?Mines a Direct spec 4 cylinder bells and whistles (N134D)
I have never before driven a tractor that is so well thought out, nor so comfortable
Makes driving anything else just annoying !
The 4 cylinder gets more raucous under load than some more recently designed engines, but not intrusive
The geometry of valtra front suspension, and position of the seat relative to the centre of pitch is near perfect (means is not like sitting on a bucking bronco). Air bags are standard on 6 cylinder (optional on 4) and make it like riding in an executive coach. Others feel like up top of a double decker by comparisonwhat makes are you comparing it to comfort wise? some people say claas and deutz have better suspension?

Class were industry comfort benchmark 20 years ago with the (Renault) 4 point sprung cab and carraro double wishbone axle suspension. Though very effective, it was a very high maintainance design
Deutz dragged themselves into the 20th century about 7 years ago when a totally new and very good design of front axle suspension was introduced. The old system, though very effective, had limited carrying capacity and vertical movement resulted in a lot of driver head nod pitch
In addition to the excellent suspension, what really sets the valtra comfort higher than others (in my opinion) is the extremely well thought out spacious cabin which is filled with intuitive positioning of the controls
You never knock the wrong lever or button reaching for another. Vision is wonderful to the sides, up top to a loader, and especially to the front, especially in this day and age of huge engine bonnets and tyres. The forward seating position makes the pickup hook invisible other than in the mirror (which is totally unobtrusive other than when needed, please note Mr. New Holland). However hooking up to the long lift arms is no bother, and the seat swivel lever is perfectly positioned to prevent even having to strain around looking over your shoulder
Engines while wonderfully torquey, do like drinking on the job, even after a remap....
Anyway, what was this thread about? I've probably wandered quite far off topic by now?
Pal has a T194 remapped to around 280hp runs v sweet he says & much better tractor than his 820claas was & it was remapped to similar hp.The geometry of valtra front suspension, and position of the seat relative to the centre of pitch is near perfect (means is not like sitting on a bucking bronco). Susi means wolf in Finnish, also when something is crap it's called "susi". So probably won't be going from Sisu (guts) to Susi (wolf/crap).@Finn farmer I quite like the sound of that, how about you?
You know not to mess with Finnish when their word for crap and wolf are the same.... And changes the story of the boy who cried wolf completely .Susi means wolf in Finnish, also when something is crap it's called "susi". So probably won't be going from Sisu (guts) to Susi (wolf/crap).

Aye, easily.....Can you post some photos of this machine please.
I’ve got jd and a valtra n174 active . In my opinion the jd is miles ahead of the valtra for front suspension . When the valtra has weight on the back then it travels lovely whereas the jd just works regardless. The valtra has great power ,when you touch the foot pedal , it just takes off . Unfortunately the valtra suffers from electrical gremlins which seems to be common in the few I know of . Valtra also a lovely loader tractor . Fuel , heavy on hard work but seems decent on lighter work . Adblu seems always excessive compared to jd .The geometry of valtra front suspension, and position of the seat relative to the centre of pitch is near perfect (means is not like sitting on a bucking bronco).
