Has anyone had experience of getting one of these yet and the cost involved.I understand if not part of an assurance scheme you ll need one from the 13th of this month when selling animals destined for the food chain.

If you have had a recent vet call out it shouldnt be much more than a phone call and certificate , no idea of cost. Its for meat that might be exported more than just food chain. Almost farm assurance but not farm assured but through the back door. Knackered without one or the other from the 13th

Hereford was putting vendors FA or VAN number up on the board for barren cows thursday i hear for the first time.
One of the only times i can remember that being FA has come in handy.

I quit farm assured in the summer as I think it’s a load of rubbish. So I did the van the other day. Vet came out looked at some sheep and showed them my medicine book. They’d already been out taking swabs on the cattle before so the medicine part of it was covered. Took about 30 mins and job done
