Ok weather experts, yesterday we had brilliant blue skies and no vapour trails, even though I could see the jets going over. Then today, with brilliant blue skies again, we have plenty of vapour trails crossing the sky. Does anyone know why this is?

Assuming they aren't chemtrails, isn't the traditional explanation that they are ice crystals formed around particulates in the exhaust gases? Maybe all planes were flying low or some other reason it wasn't cold enough up there.

Doesn't bode well I'm afraid. :(

During ww2 the camera recon. planes used to gradually get higher until they made a trail and then drop down to just below. That way, they weren't drawing attention to themselves and could not be bounced by unfriendlies from above.
The level was different every day.

I see vapor trails are on the increase after lockdown. Any one travelled long haul recently, as wandering if one has to wear a mask while on an aircraft, are the seats all full ???
