Totally agree our dawsum didn't tiller eitherHasn't septoria hit all varieties , My dawsum didn't overly tiller , maybe a high seed rate crop ?
SY CheerNo decent new wheat varieties seen in trials apart from a new Syngenta group 1 Miller whose name I have forgotten already!
That's why I panicked when I read Hampton's post, I've a trailer of it sitting for seed and thought I'd fecked up. Checked the RL and couldn't see anything about it being a hybrid eitherI double triple checked before drilling mine as I’m keeping it back for seed.
No, I just wrote it badly. That's what I thought but reading @Hampton post It seems like he said it was.
To varying degrees here. Costello had a well timed 4 spray fungicide programme and was the dirtiest.Hasn't septoria hit all varieties , My dawsum didn't overly tiller , maybe a high seed rate crop ?
My Costello was the same but came off better than the 500kg of Dawsum in the same fieldTo varying degrees here. Costello had a well timed 4 spray fungicide programme and was the dirtiest.
have you harvested the bairstow, weve got some but it will be last to cutDawsum looks just ok and will have to keep it for a fair bit of seed; stand out here is actually Bairstow. Clean as a whistle and massive ears.
Yes; but no yield kit on the combine. It was good enough looking to make me order some for next year; it was only a little test strip you see.have you harvested the bairstow, weve got some but it will be last to cut
Sow it earlyAny thoughts on seed dressing for fss winter barley? Any dressings help with rooting or do you think they are a gimmick?
I've WB to go into some heavy coastal ground and wouldn't mind it getting up and established quick.
I put Tiros on everything now - works very well.Any thoughts on seed dressing for fss winter barley? Any dressings help with rooting or do you think they are a gimmick?

That's the plan but I'd go with a dressing too if I thought it would help.Sow it early
