Vegan food advertised as meat and the Advertising Standards Authority??

As mentioned on TFF before, “How are vegan food companies being allowed”(getting away with), saying their products are ,Vegan Steak,VeganChicken,Vegan sausages,Vegan Salamii, Vegan meat balls ??
I have looked up the definition of wordsMeat, Steak,Chicken, Sausages,Salami and meat balls, in the Oxford Dictionary . The definition of meat is “The flesh of an animal or a bird eaten as food”, and all the other above food words all made from “MEAT”.
So in my opinion the words meat, steak, chicken, sausage, salami and meat balls etc , should NOT BE ALLOWED TO BE PRINTED, on the front side of Vegan food packaging as completely misleading and untruthful.
I ask those of you who are livestock farmer members of the NFU and position holders in NFU, is the NFU in contact at high level with the Advertising Standards Authority about the advertising of Vegan foods as “Meat”.
Meat is meat , plant based foods are plant foods in no way whatsoever can they be classed as meat.
Can I suggest we contact the “Advertising Standards Authority” en masse about the above situation.
In the meantime can we build up a list of misleading Vegan food packaging on this thread, ideally pics of food packaging which can eventually be sent on to the “Advertising Standards Authority”.

hi
Makes me think all Advertising Standards Authority staff must be Vegans. :banghead:
Amazing how organisations can manipulate words to suit their own agenda, although they would never openly admit it. It would need a large organisation / meat processor etc to take on the might of the ASA, with all the financial resources they would be able to have behind them, if they were to be taken to court themselves for misinformation.
Not a good situation for the livestock industry.

To be fair I contacted the ASA several months ago regarding an ad campaign by Quorn which involved Liverpool FC and some of their team quoting what were basically lies re livestock ghg emissions.
I provided evidence to the contrary and the ad had to be taken down.
What annoys me though is that was the end of it. No public apology or retraction so the last thing Joe public remember is the crap those players came out with.
