Volunteering at farms

City worker in London here with a passion for farming. I live in South East London and would love to volunteer at a cattle farm in Kent. Obviously I would work for free, and only available at the weekends.

Is this a realistic proposition? Does anyone know of any farms that would potentially welcome weekend volunteers? I'm not interested in tourist farms (even though I am a tourist!).

I have NO farming experience whatsoever and my knowledge is limited. I'd just love to give it a go, get stuck in, and see what its all about. Livestock interests me the most.

If anyone has any ideas on how I might go about looking or contacting farms regarding this, as well as jobs that they would be likely to let me do, I would be very grateful! Thanks.
