Volvo Ec140 value

Anyone know the rough value of a 2007 Volvo EC140BLC with a genuine 7000 hours on it?
Was looking to sell for something newer but now thinking of putting some money into it to get it immaculate (just wants some pins & bushes in the quick hitch & some paint to get it immaculate) Have been told they’re a sought after model & hard to find but don’t want to spend a few ££££ on it & find it only be worth an extra 800 quid after.

Thanks in advance

Doubt you will get your money back if your still looking to sell after tidying it up, different matter if your looking to keep it.

As for value, at auction is expect a rough example to be circa 12k, tidy examples maybe up to 20k, but would need to be very tidy to achive that imo.

Trade for plant has been down last few months and used prices are not as strong as they were 12 months ago

At that age and hours it will most likely find itself on a boat to Africa or the likes. It will be sought after thanks to its relative lack of emissions kit, but don't for one minute think the exporters will pay you a penny more just because it's had a five gallon overhaul.

If you want rid then just sell it and put the money into something else.

There a fecking good digger wouldn’t like to value it really without knowing things like chain an sprocket condition etc.
That said the B series 140 is one of the best 14 ton class diggers EVER made! Would most definitely be better spending a handful of thousands tidying that up and running it for another 7000 hours rather than finding 30 odd grand to spend on something better

Thanks for all the replies.

If we put the money in it we wouldn’t sell it on for a good few years. I just didn’t want to put for example £6000 into a machine only worth £10000.
We were looking at a 2014 ec140d with similar hours on to ours but the cost to change got me thinking about putting the money into ours instead. Sounds like it might be the way forward if the b series have such a good reputation & may be a better use of money than going for a newer model

I decided to do the same with a komatsu PC210-8, with10,000 hrs on the clock, really wish i hadn't now!!

In hindsight it would have been better to chop it in and buy another 5000hr replacement. Would have cost about the same to change as it has to repair the one we have over the last 12 months.

Without seeing the machine it’s difficult to tell, but assume you sell privately for circa £15k, another £15k on top would see you into a 4k hour 5-6 year old machine.

As a thought, If you change brand and buy a JS130, you would trade up to a far newer machine for £10k, maybe less. Personally i rate the JS130 as a pretty decent digger and there are some good deals on them second hand if you look around

Did the hitch on purs for sub 800 spend a few k or 10 k on a newer one. That could have worse issues things your talking about go the same on any mAchine.

This is true, tractors move on all the time with comfort and performance. Diggers don't get any better, just more emission stuff that costs more to run and makes downtime. The best 13 tonner we've had was a cat 312b. stayed tight and dry and was very smooth to operate. almost anybody could grade with it. worst digger tried was a new Doosan. no feel with it at all, snatchy and hopeless to grade with. Some people seem to get on with them god knows how.. jcb's are soft in the slew ring, ok for farmers machines if cheap but not up to production work.. A pal had no end of trouble with a new js, no faith in digger or dealer and got rid of it. We've had great backup from cat and the machines are generally reliable.

I agree with CAT, over the years i have generally had less issues with CAT excavators than others, but their not without their issues. They are generally built to a higher standard than most others, but it does come at a premium.

should be worth a fair bit more than 10k im guessing 15-20k bracket ish judging by what ours at work cost with 6500 hours! double that would get you a decent case new ish without to many hours that would be a good digger but there not a volvo as good as they are
