Think a lot of the kit is from their fleet hire, severel contractors around here had them on cheep/hour rates, i think i saw bonds had a lot of gear at a kivells sale last year, probably thinking week pound, good export, shift a lot of kit. well respected outfit around here.

Are they? I can never get any sense out of them. Everything is POA and if you phone nobody can ever be bothered to get back to you. that does not earn my respect! How can a business operate like that? I here that they are closing branches that haven't been open very long, I am not surprised .

They are respected regarding the timber and hire side of the business, we have a duezts handler here, but must admit never got back to regarding machinery i enquired about.

Think there is a lot more to it than that. It’s a dramatic change in policy from what I hear. Exiting all plant business and pulling out of Ag Machinery side as well. They cam into Ag machinery by waving a big cheque book and thought they could buy there way in. It hasn’t worked. New depots in Callington and Holsworthy taken on and then quickly closed.
Still you have to give them credit for having a go and I have no doubt they will regroup and drive the other parts of their business forward.
My experience of Ag machinery side was similar to @bluepower Local gossip say there’s quite a few who are now out of a job now

I am surprised the plant hire side of things is going, big firm in this area and ties in well with the timber business. Construction and building going on everywhere in the SW. However, on the Ag side utter disaster, less said the better and not at all surprised. I know quite a few other dealer principles/managers predicted this result, its a tough business and as An Gof said not something that can be bought.

Gave up after page 3. Are the classic Fords for sale ? 7810, 8100 4wd, 8700, and the TW 25 ?

Edit, doesn't look like they're included in the sale.

Don't think I will bother, a few items of interest but refusing to pay £10000 deposit to register and wait for a cheque back if I don't spend it.

£10k deposit :eek::oops: that’s a joke. I was interested in a couple of the tipping skips but there’s no way I writing cheque for £10k for the priviledge of bidding. The directors of W H Bond all know me VERY well I’d have thought for a couple of skips they could tell the auctioneer that I’m good for my money.

Could you elaborate a little more on what you mean by them buying their way into Ag machinery?
