I found a 1992 FORD 6640 powerstar sle for £9000 with 7000 working hours and i have ne experience with that transmition, is that tractor any good? What to look for when buying it and is there some mayor problems with that model?

There’s a way to see what’s left in the packs on some of the 40 series. Calibration mode will tell you on the SL I’m not sure about the SLE. They are generally dearer to fix than the SL. Was told if the double click on the shuttle with no clutch in gear doesn’t work it’s on its way out.

I wouldn’t buy without someone who knows how to fix one. Engine’s are good. Plenty of good people in the UK and Eire but that’s not going to help you unless you are very proficient with spanners. Electrical problems can be frustrating. Buy something that people locally know how to fix would be my advice. Nice tractors when they are working mind.
