Water going to be off 5 days

Letter stating water will be off 9 till 5 for 5 days while they flush the main, can they do this bearing in mind we have livestock?
How has anyone got around it if they've had it? I would need 8 bowsers!
My only plan is to connect a bowser to supply but land that's level won't get anything like the flow needed?
Especially cows grazing on a hot day.

I would tell them you need bowsers supplying for cattle and sheep in each field

My easiest way is connect on to the 2 main supplies, the problem is pressure and keeping it there half the farm probably be ok due to hill, troughs have 50m + head pressure.

just get in touch with them, they have to sort a suitable supply of water for your livestock.

He may have to get creative with them, I was told by SWW, that we should always have 48 hrs of needed water stored on farm for live stock, so told them that's fine, but on three blocks off lying arable ground that has a large water mains though it with a history of leaks the same would apply to them and I would deny access for48 hrs in the future, they sorted water for cattle at their expense. Everyone's happy.

You might get lucky though, we had a similar letter earlier in the year, never went off at all, odd bit of peaty coloured water when I went for a shower.

is there a regulation governing water supply back up for livestock or is that a recommendation from SWW? Have to be honest and Say we wouldn't have that amount of water knocking about at any time of year. We've got ponds and such but not a potable water storage solution.

I would guess at a SWW thing, because it was said by a manager with a " not my problem" sort of attitude, so we had to make it his problem going forward.

Can you ask for a 10,000 litre tank and pump to be supplied? I'd be surprised if they didn't when you tell them there is livestock

In my experience we had a water disruption we explained that we had pigs housed and the needed water at first they weren't co-operating, once we explained it would turn into a welfare issue and animal welfare would be contacted they soon arranged a 25,000ltr bowser to be deliverd.
