Y to get that first calf out of our best heifers and tbh, now we've our own proven easy calving Lim, we make as much money from those! However, we do keep the heifer WagyuxBlues as recips, logic being as we're a high health herd, cheaper to breed our own recips than buy in - even from Newland's dairy herd! The first one that doesn't hold an embryo is going for kill and our freezers, so I'll maybe able to tell y'all what they taste like!

Think we pay £12 / straw. Like the Genus bull a bit more than cogent' Mikado but they're pretty awful to look at out of Blues - God knows what they'd be like on Freisians - horrible !

That's the bit that worries me as to be safe I would have to produce more than required so I might just get a hiding on the surplus. Would have thought blues are a more natural fit tbh so even more worried now.:ROFLMAO:.

Also I think the fabled eating quality would be diluted too much by crossing with the milkers.

Why? Holsteins are good eating just not much on them
 
Wagyu crosses generally resemble the crappiest p*ss poor Angus cross you've ever seen. Avoid taking them into a market, or you WILL be disappointed ( at any stage of their lives). The best of the cuts are unbelievably good though:hungry:. The cheaper cuts have too much fat running through them for most people. :sick: .

hi, as i advertised on the "Livestock for sale" section, i am still looking for some Wagyu stores / calves, or even fat cattle.

We could have some Wagyu available ranging from 3-26 months.
We have had them since 2009, yes they are butt ugly to look at, the description of a bad Angus x dairy isn't far off the mark.
However they more than make up for it with the meat quality.
There is an awful lot to learn on the feeding of these animals, Australians seem to be the experts.
By correct feeding marbling can be increased without increasing the external fat too much.
If any TFF members would like to come & have a look round please get in touch.
There is semen in store at UK sires from Newnton Fukutusuru, imported from Oz as an embryo, we have this bull on farm at the moment.if anyone is interested I could take some photos.
Cattle are based between St Albans & Milton Keynes.
