Weaned a fair number of lambs off the hill yesterday then subsequently had a neighbour (only been there a year or two) ring up very distressed about the noise that was going on. Really?

He should think himself lucky that you hadn't weaned a load of suckler cows and calvesWeaned a fair number of lambs off the hill yesterday then subsequently had a neighbour (only been there a year or two) ring up very distressed about the noise that was going on. Really?

I suggested getting some of his vegan freinds to come and sit with themOh ffs We have quite a few caravans staying near the yard at weaning so weaned lambs go further away and ewes go to the far end of the farm, I only have 2 neighbours that would be surrounded by weaned lambs/ewes and they whinge about how all the cute little lambs are now not cute and make a racket, I say to them that their the lucky ones as they managed to get to that age without being ready before..

I did explain last night. The previous phone call from him was telling me that my daughters two horses were getting wet because it was raining. When the phone rang last night I had a good idea what he was ringing for. I said before he was able say anything ‘are you ringing to tell me the horses are getting wet again?’ Just to get set off on the right foot. I would spend more time explaining but there’s a few like this and they are here for an average 4 years then the whole process starts againGenerally drop a text to my nearest neighbours the day before, and stick one of the “sad face” pictures at the end. Never get any negative feedback afterwards, and sometimes get thanks for the warning.
It pays to explain what we are doing, I find.
Just shows the sense of it all???Better get them to sing Cwmbaia
I know someone who put a new grain drier setup in which was ran off a generator, the first year towards the end of the drying season they started having the odd neighbour complain about it. The next July they took the silencer off and ran it like that for 6 weeks before the complaints came in, they then put the silencer/exhaust back on back to the same noise level as what they’d had the year before and all of the neighbours were delighted, no noise complaints since as they all remember the loud engine that the farmer made quieter...
