Weaning lambs

1st august was always traditional lamb weaning time.....but anytime from now onwards,if you have good grass they may aswell be going onto it.

Always used to wean first week of August in mid March - late April lambers and they’d melt like hell.
Weaned early because of the drought this year and last year and the lambs have kept doing, brought lambs in 6 days post weaning and instead of melting they’d almost all put condition on.

no thats a girl,get 2 or 3 every year with horns,we have them dehorned..... just under the chin,that one is on it's way to dunbia as we speakNice bunch! I thought those were ewes with lambs for a moment! I take it the one with horns has balls to?

Oh wow I havnt had any females with horns only ever rams. Not just the exlana’s though before anyone looking in says anything, I had a texel x Charolais ram lamb with massive horns curling back that went dead last week.no thats a girl,get 2 or 3 every year with horns,we have them dehorned..... just under the chin,that one is on it's way to dunbia as we speak
