I've got one called seek which isn't bad and will also identify birds, mammals and fungi. I do sometimes question the accuracy of some of the obscure things but it did identify dogs vomit fungus the other day which was a new one on me!

Buy a handbook and practice. In reality you won't find every week on your farm unless you have a wide range of soil types. Over time you will be familiar with them and they will just be like old 'friends'.

Buy the old grasses and sedges handbook also.
I know the ones at home it is when on other farms i see weeds and if i don't know them i pull them up and take home to id them but usually they are well buggered by the time i get home . I am just trying to broaden my knowledge and thought that a id app might help do it on the spot . I have got the arable weeds book by HGCA that is useful for most weeds. Old friends OLLIE more like old enemies' you mean :D .

Take pictures of them on your phone.

Broad leaved weeds are easier, it's the grasses which require some careful looking at to identify them. Do the apps identify grasses?
