Looking for recommendations for a weed id App to download onto my phone anyone got any recommendations .Also what other good apps to have got WTWords of course .

I've got one called seek which isn't bad and will also identify birds, mammals and fungi. I do sometimes question the accuracy of some of the obscure things but it did identify dogs vomit fungus the other day which was a new one on me!

Buy a handbook and practice. In reality you won't find every week on your farm unless you have a wide range of soil types. Over time you will be familiar with them and they will just be like old 'friends'.

Buy the old grasses and sedges handbook also.

I know the ones at home it is when on other farms i see weeds and if i don't know them i pull them up and take home to id them but usually they are well buggered by the time i get home . I am just trying to broaden my knowledge and thought that a id app might help do it on the spot . I have got the arable weeds book by HGCA that is useful for most weeds. Old friends OLLIE more like old enemies' you mean .

Take pictures of them on your phone.

Broad leaved weeds are easier, it's the grasses which require some careful looking at to identify them. Do the apps identify grasses?

Thanks Brisel, Plantnet exotic . I like the sound of that Exotic dancers ???? might take me a bit longer to id the foliage .

No. That would have BASF's lawyers twitching! Rotam used to have a page on SU weed spectra. I'll have a look for some and link them later.
