Weekend Weather Forecast 10/11/17

Hello,

It's set to be a chilly weekend with the risk of some snow on northern hills.

I'm holding some one day Farming Weather Schools during the winter (running form 10am to 4pm). The aim of the course is to help you spot and maximise weather windows on your farm, make the most use of internet weather apps and to help you better make your own forecasts for your farm. There's more information at www.WeatherSchool.co.uk . Dates are still to be finalised, but if you'd like to be notified when the courses will be held please get in touch.

Weatherweb Premium also has lots of weather wisdom and is continuing to grow with more members joining every week. There's stack of weather information, forecasts and learning to be found on the website and you can try Weatherweb Premium completely free at

And don't forget you can also receive these forecasts by email, just send a blank email to

Have a great weekend,
Simon

WEEKEND WEATHER FORECAST
==========================

Issued: 0800 Friday 10th November 2017

SATURDAY
---------------
A cold front is going to become almost stationary from southern Ireland, southern Wales and into southern England on Saturday morning. The flow turns more northwesterly behind the front as an occlusions slips south through Scotland.
It increasingly appears that southern Ireland, southern Wales and southern England will have a cloudy and damp day through Saturday. Little change is expected through the day, and it will be feeling cold too.
Brighter skies should follow into Northern Ireland, northern Wales, the Midlands and probably later in the day into East Anglia.
Northern Scotland wil have cloud and some showers at times, a few heavy and turning wintry over the hills. Southern Scotland should be fair with sunny spells, although feeling cold.
Winds NW 23-28kt (F6) in the Channel, 15-20kt (F4-F5) to the north of the front but perhaps to 25kt (F6) in the north of Scotland.

SUNDAY
------------
The front finally clears from southern England on Sunday morning, leaving a brighter, cold day. High pressure builds west of Ireland, and with low pressure east of the UK the flow turns to the north. Troughs will be passing south in the flow.
There will be some good sunny spells and it is going to be feeling cold too. Where the troughs pass through is where the highest risk of showers will be; the northern half of Scotland, the far east of England and far western coasts of England together with northern and western Wales. The showers wintry over the hills of Scotland. Elsewhere it should be dry with sunny spells
Just watch for the risk of some more persistent showers affecting the coasts of East Anglia and the far southeast of England.
Winds NW 18-25kt (F5-F6) with a significant wind chill.
