WEEKEND WEATHER FORECAST
==========================
Issued: 1100 hrs, Thursday 8th December 2016
SATURDAY
-------------
Low pressure to the northwest of Scotland with high pressure over central Europe all leads to a moist, mild southwest airflow affecting the UK and Ireland on Saturday.
Cloud and outbreaks of rain affecting much of Wales as well as central and southern England. Most of the rain will be in more western areas, but there will be hill and coastal low cloud and fog patches for all.
Brighter skies for Scotland and Ireland with some sunny spells to come here. A few showers affecting more northern and western areas.
Little change is expected into the afternoon.
Winds SW F3-F4 in the south, but SW F5 in Scotland and Northern Ireland, perhaps to F6 in the west.
SUNDAY
-----------
Higher pressure builds into the south of the country through Sunday. There may be some fog patches over northern, central and southern England and Wales at first, but these will be lifting quickly to leave broken cloud and sunny spells. A cold front clearing southeast England early in the morning takes showery outbreaks of rain with it. Further showers in northern and western Scotland, most of them light, with most of Scotland being dry and bright with sunny spells. Ireland should be dry too with sunny spells, although cloud may increase in the south later.
Winds mostly W-NW F3-F4 at first, then backing SW F4-F5 in the west later.
