Welding Fume Extraction Options

The original threads on this seem to have many contradictions and suppositions so i'm wondering if we're now any the wiser and what measures if any, people have put in place. The latest HSE document dated 4th December 2019 indicates that if its not reasonably practical to provide Local Exhaust Ventilation then an FFP3 mask is adequate for up to 1 hour, else an air fed mask is required.

Has anyone found a simple and flexible LEV option that e.g. could be easily positioned anywhere necessary in a typical farm workshop - and i'm naively thinking this could surely just be a large diameter flexible pipe with a strong fan in the middle - one end positioned next to the work in hand and one end exiting the building?! Failing that, any recommendations on what people have found to be the most user friendly Air Fed Mask which isn't going to be a p.i.t.a. each time its used?! Thanks

Problem with an air fed mask is that you need a service record and others cannot be in the work area. The latter counts for disposable masks as well.
