Can anyone tell me the minimum land you require to apply for BPS?

I have just received our CPH number, and our URN. When do I need to apply? How much per hectare are the current rates?

5ha I think.

Do you have BPS entitlements to cover the area you wish to claim on? Have you registered the land transfer with RPW?

I found RPW to be very helpful in sorting out the above in 2012, or at least pointing me in the right direction.:)

5ha of qualifying land is the minimum. My land was previously not registered, so I had to fill in forms (FM4) to get the maps up and running on the RPW site. BPS is claimed in May via a comprehensive online questionnaire and is payable from December. If you do not have any entitlements you have to apply for an allocation from the National Reserve, having proved you are a Active Farmer. Ring RPW and they will send the paper forms.

My advice - get the applications in as quickly as possible as the process is serial and lengthy with little feedback. Also when the BPS application overlaps with the original registration its like shooting in the dark, though I presume it sorts itself out in the end.

When you are dividing or amalgamating fields, do you still fill in a field maintenance form or do you now do it online using the RPW site?

I think it's now possible to do online since mid December. You have to control all the fields involved however, so cannot fix errors on the external boundary online.
