What are chances of successfully claiming against Mercedes?

For several weeks I have seen
TV advert where owners of Mercedes vehicles can claim because of falsifying emissions Would it be for first owner only?
What are chances of success?
I don't own Mercedes

I should have said I know of one
A few days ago I said here about my boss from the 70's who passed away at the age of 96
He give up driving and I used to take him about in his merc so it will probably be for sale

Eligible cars owners will have received a letter from Mercedes - you do not have to be the first owner, but the current owner - similar to the VW emmisions scandal - rang Mercedes 4 weeks ago and still not received a return call re an appointment to book in for update.

I don't know the year as it has personal plate, that might be worth a

I looked at mot checker but l need logbook which will be difficult so I will
