what do i need ?

I do one spreadsheet a month ,(using open office at minute )
and surf web , that's it .
what's the best device for this ,
laptop?
can a tablet do spreadsheet.
where should I be looking .?

It comes down to personal preference but my phone can do that as can a tablet, laptop or desktop.
I'm happy to use any of them but definitely prefer my desktop. I've never had a laptop.

For spreadsheets I use Microsoft Excel and is on all my devices and work saved to the cloud. All spreadsheets can be opened on any device from anywhere. I don't pay anything for it.

Does open office run on Chrome books? They are just like laptops but have touch and are tough. They are also cheaper than PCs on the whole.

Another vote for a Chromebook - I bought a very cheap refurb from laptops direct, should do everything you want - get one with a number pad if you are doing accounts, makes number entry much easier
May not run MS Office, but alternatives available
