What do you carry?

Hi,
I was just wonering what everybody keeps on them when at work
-in overalls
-in tractor
-in car
-etc
In my overalls I keep multi tool (draper PMTI if anybody cares),pocket knife(john deere free with tractor),pen(s),lighter(s),6ft ish of bailer cord,2 pairs of latex gloves, lipbalm, couple of calving gloves. All of this stays in my overalls at all times i also have my phone any some cash.
May seem like a lot but When i have my overalls on I dont notice.

I was always told that farmers should carry a shilling, a knife, and a piece of string.

With inflation a shilling, (10p) won't do much good nowadays, better make that a fiver!

Pockets: Mobile, folding wallet of keys for various gates/barns, old army penknife, small adjustable spanner (Irega 4" one, perfect for batteries etc, best tool I have bought), allen key to fit PTO compressor. Plus loads of dog treats to try and train my badly behaved vizsla.

Landrover is a mobile workshop - pretty much everything I can think of needing to fix stuff on the go: hand tools, sockets, spanners, fixings, water fittings, chainsaw, oils, grease, power tools.

From your Avatar I though you did contract fencing until you wrote this. Never yet met a Contractor with £30 cash in his pocket. You must be doing OK!

Phone, personal radio, knife, baler twine, hanky,dog biscuits,keys. I like pockets, always have loads of them!

I don't like much in my pockets as it tends to nip when constantly climbing sheep gates/Pratley sides. Truck is chock full of knives, string, electricians tape, waterproofs and boots for all weathers. I carry a little cash hidden in the car handbook (no one ever looks at that do they?). Back of truck has trailer aid, saw, and socket set.

My van has just about everything I could ever need in it. But finding things is getting hard, can feel a session coming on. That'll take at least a day!

I have that problem , it comes in in the treads on your wellies. Quite embarrassed last weekend when the farmer I was milking for shifted my van. Told him I hoped he wiped his feet when he got out.

I didn't say I ever put my hand in that pocket.

You must be too young a shilling is 5p
