My hedgecutting contractor runs a 55 plate vario 6920,He has had problems losing drive, dealer came out sorted it electrical problem, to cut a long story short, any way same happened again few days later fitter said it needs a complete wiring loom.
Contractor drives it to main dealer which is 20 miles away breaks down again after 8 miles and has to be towed in the rest of the way.
This was 3 weeks ago now.
John Deere now tell him they cannot get a loom until november.
Why the problem ?
What ever happened to the mavellous spares backup?
Why is there a spares problem on a popular tractor like a 6920.

You could make a loom in a few days, but repairing the one in it wouldnt take forever.
He is looking into having a loom made,i know a hgv mechanic who had aloom made for a leyland daf 105,but its all stop for the bank holiday at the moment

Its hard to comment with out real facts

could be a total melt down , could just be a failure of 1 wire which is unknown where
but in my mind there always a story and reason to why

would think it could be sort if only temp fix to keep going

What harness are there waiting for

All ive been told by the guy is that it needs a new loom and fuse board,as for the other comments about finding the suspect wire well the previous owner of this tractor had been doing thing like this before and even used scotcklocks(what an animal).
My gripe is the contractor is losing his income,my hedges arent getting cut and i cannot believe that JD Germany havent got a loom in stock for a popular model and a november delivery is just bloody unacceptable

I would get onto Langar and let them know or go and try a different dealer. It doesn't surprise me unfortunately, I probably use to use the same dealer and now have to use a dealer further away like a LOT of people around here.

No it has gone down very fast since the expansion, now they are only interested in a few big customers. John Deere need to be told.
Not going to run them down always had good service in the past, now running less JD kit,It was JD who pushed them to expand after all,bit of a home goal hey!
