What happened to

Silage gang always come in for dinner here, used to be for all meals but there seems more need to push on nowadays. Although maize harvest it's often supper rather than dinner, better to work on in daylight and sit at the table in the dark.
Don't think they go in for food at many places now but the lads who work for the contractor will do just about anything for me. Not sure if it's because they feel appreciated or wether they're just good blokes.

Mrs GTB works off farm so she's never here to make lunch for the silage gang but she always makes them supper. I'm sure they appreciate it, they must get sick to death of sandwiches.

If we're working near the house / yard we'll have a cuppa mid morning and mid afternoon and lunch around 12.30 /1pm. Unfortunately these days it's packed lunch and eating on the go most days. In my mother's day we had to be in for meals at 10am, 12.30pm and 4pm on the dot. And supper was at 7pm come hell or high water!

Don't think I could eat at 10, then again at 12.30 and 4.
