Have you completely given up your spray contracting business?
2.5yrs ago. Fed up being away from home weekends,mornings/evenings etc. This wets the appetite as favourite job and not too much to get excited about

Its a bit of a shame to butcher such a good bit of kitGot a grinder?
How late can you go through standing crop with slurry without damaging crop? Its a bit of a shame to butcher such a good bit of kit
It's not really about how late. Rather the 2nd pass through finishes off any damage caused by the first passHow late can you go through standing crop with slurry without damaging crop?
Some of the heroes on here don't put in tramlines and proclaim they don't lose any crop.
We have just went to 28m tramlines and contractors bought a 24m dribble bar. Maybe won't bother with digestate on winter crops next year.
Ask your contractor if he can add to his dribble bar BUT 28m is an odd size? Even having a splash plate on the end covering the last few metre would be better than nothingHow late can you go through standing crop with slurry without damaging crop?

He supplies and spreads digestate for free. So don't feel like I'm in a position to negotiate!Ask your contractor if he can add to his dribble bar BUT 28m is an odd size? Even having a splash plate on the end covering the last few metre would be better than nothing
Just be happy the digestate is going on then and don’t worry about the 4m of poorer cropsHe supplies and spreads digestate for free. So don't feel like I'm in a position to negotiate!
28m is quite popular up here as fits in with 4m drill tramlines.

UmbilicalDepends if umbilical or tanker and soil conditions I work on stem extension, have had a lot of wheel damage doing it too late. My contractor is now on 12m dribble bar and he will run up the 24m tramlines. I may have a 12m tanker next year which will help me.
mostly chalk here so good to travel on.

Can you go up and down the tramlines without assistance or do you need to sow corner to corner?
If the crop is young it doesn’t matter as the benefit outweighs the little amount it’s damaged, similar to rollingCan you go up and down the tramlines without assistance or do you need to sow corner to corner?

If you mean with umbilical my guy does it on his own, not sure how but know he tends to start in the middle and work out each side. It all gets covered

The boys are chomping at the bit to do all the wheat with the dribble bar. Think I'll have to give in next spring! They want to do the maize as well post emergence as well.
Total workload of 3500 acres. Going for 7 sprays x 500 acres.
