Have a look on top of the nut, if it's metric they usually have 10L or 8S etc stamped in it. The number being the size and then either LL, L or S being the pressure rating. Looking at the angle of that seat though I would say your right and it's probably metric.

That's a L series metric, probably 16mm, could also be 12 or 14mm, but 16 is the most common on 1/4" hose.Use a open end spanner to measure the male threads.
