Don't be fooled by a few clips of what appear to be a madman. He was highly skilled, and employed voice coaches and hypnosis experts that trained him in the art of manipulating an audience years before others would go down this line.

but you have to factor in there was a receptive audience re sick of the Weimar republic,another 2 great orators were Michael Foot and Enoch Powell they had some great clashes in the house of commons.
