Whats a 'farm' welder worth an hour?

We've been asked to do some repairs and fabricating of stock gates. It will fit in well as can do as and when along with plenty to go at. They will provide all materials, we'll supply labour and tools inc welder, most will be done in our workshop. Whats a fair hourly rate?

Any trades around here would be £250/day, providing their tools.
You will be supplying workshop and electricity too.
Is it for the end user, or are you working for a middle man?

If you are making gates I think it would be better for both if it were a price per gate then you both know where you stand. I am a fabricator, rarely work by the hour, usually each job priced.
It’s repairs though so the amount of work it takes to sort each gate could be different so hard to do for a fixed price.
I’d be on an hourly rate for any repair jobs, could do 3-4 gates in an hour if they don’t need a lot but on the other hand they could be in right state.

(Assuming Mig Welding) Power, all consumables, wire, tips, shrouds, liner, Gas etc, Cutting/Grinding Consumables, blades, disks, belts, drill bits, PPE - coveralls, safety glasses, hearing protection spread across you operation at cost +20% (make sure you have liabilty insurance in case anything goes wrong with your repairs) & whatever you value your time at.

A good job is not cheap & a cheap job is not good.

I’d have thought £30 but sure everyone likes to rip the arse out of things these days
I do find these “ how much” threads seem to be maned by the get every penny you can brigade. Ag really isn’t the same as other industries like it or not. The margins ain’t there to sustain “ I won’t get out of bed for less the 250 quid folks. £45 an hour probably is ok if your work rate and quality matches it. No disrespect to the OP I’m sure your worth every penny.
I just know as a livestock farmer I can’t keep sustaining these high prices for every thing for the foreseeable future.
I try and do as much as possible myself lately.

£45/h isn’t expensive for anyone who’s worth their salt!
By the time you take your equipment/running costs, electric, building maintenance, insurance, tax and NI plus all the other little bits that add up out of that £45 there’s not a massive amount left as a wage at today’s prices. And you need to make a “profit” otherwise how do you replace your welder or grinder when it goes pop (they aren’t cheap!) Trust me I’ve been doing it long enough and my phone wouldn’t be constantly ringing if it was too expensive. If anything it’s to cheap in today’s money.
Local Nissan dealers want £108/h just to open the bonnet and look at a fault that’s not even to fix it.
