Whats happening to my wheat?

Checked on my wheat today and some of the shoots are laying broken off on the ground. Whats causing this? Slugs? Birds?
Its worse around the headlands and my oats in the next field dont appear to be affected.

rooks and crows .....they follow the shoot down to get any bit of seed left on the end.....breaking it off in the process...

had a banger out since i sowed my w barley
even then they managed to dig some up
and i never seem one on the crop
i wondered was it only"my" crows the dug up seed
they wait until the crop is emerging and if left to their devices
will follow a line down the field and pull up the plants for the seed grain
last year some arsehole thought it appropiate to vandalise my bangalore christmas day
removed the main board and fried it and tried to replace it
wires not replaced on the board, retaining screws wrung off
trying to make it look like it was burnt out
nice f**kers beside me eh?
i.ll bring it in after dinner today
so they can occupy themselves on christmas day with somethin g else

Were you pointing it away from their house? Baffling it with bales to direct noise away? Starting it at a reasonable time Sunday mornings? If not Maybe they thought they deserved a day off from your row? Sounds like frustration overtook them.
