Even though it will only exist on calculators

Altruism?

If its financial do those who make money from net zero also only spend their money on net zero things?
Motivation?
Farming is the only industry in the world that is and always has been net-zero!
Everything we do uses photosynthesis.
Why else are we the only industry that can sell carbon credits?

Farming going net-zero is nothing more than another stick to hit Farmers over the head with!
So as far as the rest of the public are concerned, we are not left out and therefore allows them to feel less guilty.

However, there may be ways that we can become even more Carbon friendly.

As capitalism is based on the ridiculous concept of infinite growth in a finite world something needed to be done. So basically it is a global commitment made by the elites to use panic and fear (coronavirus was part of it) as a means to reshape all our economies and laws and move to a new form of capitalism that focuses on net-zero emissions. The plan involves replacing shareholders of big companies with stakeholders (read bureaucrats and climate-change zealots etc.). Replacing small business and private enterprises with big tech and big business.

Democracy and free enterprise go out the window.

Totalitarian government control slides in through the back door.

But hey i'm just the local conspiracy theorist. Even if the plan is out there for all to see. Note 2030 - 2049 "Beef and lamb phased out"

All of which makes XR the farmers friend. Yet most farmers see XR as the enemy. It's all very confusing.

That is really shocking, where is this from, if beef is to be phased out does that not mean that all dairy products would also disappear or would the beef from dairies simply go into landfill?

Interesting chart.

So they want to phase out Beef and Lamb between 2030 to 2049!
The very animals that eat grass where we can’t grow anything else, that are the only animals that can utilise that grass and turn it into food.

Unbelievable!

That comes from UK FIRES, a bunch of academics at Cambridge who've jumped on the climate change research grant gravy train (to the tune of £5 million of taxpayers money) with very, very, close links to manufacturing. Heck, the bloke who leads it has a background in the production of aluminium. Not atmospheric physics, not climatology. Aluminium. Note how manufacturing doesn't take much of a hit, whilst many other things do? Well, that's because it's a propaganda exercise designed to divert attention from the sector they're associated with.

That "plan" has been posted several times on the FF. It remains a desperately sad wet dream for the people who came up with it. It’s drivel, pure and simple. It’s all about money making. But politicians seem to be desperate to take as much drivel on board as possible. We are completely losing the plot as a race.

Is this the UK? Or Europe? Or the world?

Money. Most other innovative business ideas have got stale, next one is renewable technology and carbon trading etc.

Sure but at a policy level the NFU have decided all farmers should be net zero by 2040 (yes no one asked them) and I just wondered for those who are keen what the motivation is? Altruism I kind of get but wondered if there were any others
