Should be able to, my iPhone and MacBook talk to each other over WiFi syncing all the posts. Down load the app on both. Mine came up with a barcode thing which then synced them.

Not using it on Android but it works fine on my iMac desktop and iPad. Not sure how it works though. I've always got my phone nearby, so I don't know whether it dials up or just uses wifi. Probably the latter, but I haven't tried with the phone switched off or away from wifi calling.
Basically it just works for me and I don't care how it does it.

One thing I did today was try to FaceTime my daughter, forgetting that she has changed to Android. It did dial up and I spoke to her through FaceTime though, but no video.
Then switched to WhatsApp and the video worked fine from Apple phone to Android. Can't find a video button on the iMac desktop app though and I believe it is not possible, but the iPad is just like the iPhone, uses IOS not MAC OSX so also does WhatsApp video.

All you do to connect more of your own devices is to use the same account and password on each for the app.

You need to install a different app on your tablet as whatsapp don't officially support tablets (but do support PC - strange)

Mrs B has Wizpad (IIRC) on her iPad
From Techadvisor in the link below, with regards to Android devices...
The problem with WhatsApp is that you can only install the app on one device, and that is most likely to be your smartphone - it's always with you, and a phone number is required for account activation.

For that reason tablet users will not find WhatsApp in the app store, and it might therefore appear that it isn't possible to install the app on a tablet. That is absolutely not true.

Although Google would prefer that you stick to the confines of its Google Play app store for all the apps that you install, not least for security reasons, the truth is you can install any app on any Android device by sideloading its APK file - even 'unsupported' apps such as WhatsApp.

Unfortunately for Android users, I believe you need a second phone number to activate a new account. If you haven't got one, borrow your wife's or child's or dog's phone and use that just to activate the new account on your Android tablet.

Much simpler for iPad users...

In my experience, little is ever simpler on an I pad but this looks promising.
Last time we tried this (about a year ago perhaps) it didn't work and we had to install WizPad which is a little buggy and full of adverts.
Will investigate when Mrs B returns ....

Sorry - Mrs B says "thanks but no thanks" it seems to be no different to the app that she already has.

Cheers anyway

It’s on my to do list aswell as I tried it about a year ago and failed. I’m a bit sad and glued to my ipad every evening really and answer messages in imsg, snapchat and messenger etc but sometimes forget about the phone and don’t see whatsapps!!

You can run whatsapp on your PC (mine is built into my browser actually) but it's exactly the same and uses your phone to send the messages. Whatsapp is based on your mobile phone number and without a phone you can't use it.

If you run Opera as a browser you can have Whatsapp running on your computer or tablet as well.
