,agronomist been round and now given us our fungi recs which will be going on along with foliar feed over the next week--------- to help combat the coming drought!!!
in conversation he said he had only recommended 1/3 of normal chems this spring and that is true here

Yep, the lower leaves look like they have had a dose of roundup here. Septoria is our biggest problem with wheat. Rusts not so much,

I'm unsure if it was our epic wet weather or a varietal thing. Think we have had a spring more like the wet west and I will be spending like it. Siskin much happier though. Looking like another variety breaking down after a single year...

Finished T1 here. Timed about half just about right, a quarter was a bit late, and a quarter was definitely late (but had a T0). Well timed more resistant varieties had 0.8-1.0 Aviator + CTL. Badly timed more resistant varieties had 1.1 l/ha Aviator + CTL. Resonably well timed dirty varieties (Santiago) had 1.25 l/ha Adexar + CTL. A fair spend, and maybe a bit on the high side, but rain on exposed leaf 3 (and leaf 2 in cases) along with a fair amount of active septoria meant spend went up due to kickback required.

Lili and Gravity (Septoria) alongside Santiago (YRust) all had their T1 at the end of the week. Amazed how much disease- and with a T0 (Bravo and Folicur).

However the crops look good (minus where the springs have come out) and with a dry forecast I’m hoping the crops will quickly grow away.

in monetary terms or just a wet warm feeling and then by who

There is nothing quite like having the combine tank full up having travelled only half the distance you would normally expect to travel. Last time it happened here was with Oakley, so it was a while ago, and before that with Brigadier, when the grain elevator clutch kept clattering on the old 1545 due to the sheer amount of grain.

Still everything to play for this year. We seem to be getting plenty of sun now which will help greatly.

Just finished T1 here this morning. Probably still a bit quick as leaf 3 still not fully out. However my impatience meant I could not wait any longer. T0 was just straight CTL and had been on a while. My wheat is all Graham and I started to see some Yellow Rust developing so I’ve also increased the dose of Adexar in my T1 from 1.0l/Ha to 1.25l/Ha with another 1l/Ha CTL
Managing crops this year is a right pain especially as yield is already significantly compromised.

Are you sure it's leaf 3 emerging? I've got leaf 2 50-80% emerged depending on variety (Graham, Lili, Siskin) and drilling date. I spent long enough dissecting the plants to check which leaf it was.

Yes I’m sure. It’s been very backward with all the wet all year. Looks like @Properjob has Graham at similar stage to you. But he’s in the promised land of Cornwall cereal growing area  It’s much wetter and more challenging my side of the moor :p

Interesting. I'm near Salisbury and Blandford 180 - 350 feet above sea level & didn't expect you to be a leaf (10 days) behind. You Cornishmen are usually well ahead...

We run up to almost 600 feet asl. We’ve had a hellish time since last harvest. Wheat drilled at very end of October. Have another block 5 miles away at around 300 feet and the Oats there are much further ahead than the wheat BUT were drilled 3 weeks earlier.
