Every tyre has a recommended rim width that can vary slightly between tyre manufacturers. To get the most from your new, wider, low profile tyres you need the recommended rim. You can squeeze the tyres onto a narrower rim, but they end up rounded with a narrower contact patch and wear faster in the middle of the tread.
