Shear them when it's best for their welfare, all this BS about shearing them early so they look bigger to fool your customers is exactly that!

Beginning of June here, want them to look fresh for the September sales.

Usually about mid-May here, about when it warms up enough so that they can be left out straight away.
As above, if you are intending trimming, etc then around now. I do know of a few that used to sell at Kelso that never did shear them though, just back them out about now, then trim pre-sale to make them look ridiculously wide. Purchasers no doubt had a shock when they saw them after shearing.
