Where's my invoice?

Yet another purchase from an established business where I have to chase for an invoice showing the VAT.
Just send me the paperwork!
If you don't I won't buy from you again, I'll go back to Amazon who make getting an invoice one click easy.

This one is even worse than normal because I bought from Agricultural Supply Services and the payment receipt came from Goldingham Contracts, I get enough dodgy "click here" unknown invoices/payments that if you do that it's that delete button straight away. I had no idea they are sister companies..............................phone has just rung, charming Lizzie from Goldingham (responding to my email asking for an invoice) has sorted it out...................just send me an invoice!

Rant over

Why worry about not getting an invoice? The problem is theirs, supplying goods but not asking for payment.
A wise old farmer told me not to pay too early as some forget and some die.

On the other hand local garage gave 25l of oil to a customer but forgot who. Sent bills out to 6 regular buyers of oil and 5 paid.

I think the OP was provided with an invoice but without showing the vat element.

No, some things are paid for eg over the phone with a debit card and they don't send the invoice although sometimes a payment receipt arrives.

No you’re not, you're saving yourself postage. I’m sure that mounts up when you have a lot of customers. Do you want to keep this one?

And, I’m having to print the invoice instead so no one’s saving the fekking planet you pr1cks.
I have a number of companies that send me paper, as I don't receive their emailed invoices. ;)

Calculating the Vat is easy assuming every company will be charging Vat. Agree you sometimes may pay over the phone but never come across any online sales which does not have a final amount in the basket.
We would just list the payment having calculated the Vat due and have evidence of the transaction on bank statements.
If companies make a habit of it then choose one which does it properly

But hmrc don't have to accept that if it's not a proper vat invoice
