Which bull to which cows!

After some advice here!

Last year we out our Simmi Bull to our Angus X Cows and did not have a problem with any of them (Year before we out him to LimX Heifers and tbh we never had a problem with calving either)

We also have a BB X Lim Bull that we out to a mix of Our X Cows last year such as Angus X, SIM X, BB X and Lim X!

All our problems this year were from big large calves from this bull... (Most out the BBx and Simx cows)

So thinking this year to putting the BB X Lim Bull to just the Angus X Cows and the SIM Bull to the big mixed batch...

Do people think this would help with reducing the number of big monster calves for next year???

If you search on here, you'll see a lot of discussions about using a BluexLim bull. My views were clearly you'd be chancing your arm, as you would have no way of knowing what they'll throw. Using a pure bred from either breed would be preferable, as you'd have a much better idea of what you're likely to get. And now, you're experience proves my point!! So I'd get rid too and invest in a pure bred Lim or Blue, as you prefer.

A hybrid bull is fine if cows are pure (or next to it), genetically it's no different from using a pure bull on hybrid cows.

I'm guessing that the problem is arising from there being too much of a variety of genetics within the females to allow you to get away with a bull that's not pure.
