Which heavy duty case for iPhone 8

As above which HD case do you use for your iPhone 8. I had a griffin on the phone which was ran over on a main road as per my recent post!!!
The Griffin case was rubbish at keeping moisture out but very good in all other respects.

I have only had it a few days,it does what I want out of a phone and just about goes in overall pocket. I am not a phone Geek ,only got it as need phone desperately after getting phone run over, I did not have time to waste reviewing new phones.

It does restrict reception a little but if you've got decent signal in your area, you wouldn't notice.

Otterbox would generally be considered the dogs danglies of cases, not cheap but they are bloody good.

Other than being a bit bigger, it will run slightly faster and have a better camera there wont be much difference its still an apple iphone, see if anyone you know has one you can try to see if you like the size difference, not sure many phone shops will have them on display to try out anymore as they've been out for a few years now.

Lifeproof Fre is less clunky, managed to break my screen 2 days after getting new phone but i think i lay on it and my penknife pushed up into the screen! 22 months later its still going strong!

iPhone 8 is great. It has all the important things like fingerprint recognition, credit card/ApplePay facility so you take a photo of your eligible credit card and it is copied to the phone and has no-limit contactless facility. It has a good, but not the latest and best camera.
If you really want the latest and best, as opposed to good and good value, then the iPhone 11 top versions or a slightly cheaper 10 X [I think it is] would be better. These have multiple cameras and while being the same physical size as the 8, they lack the bezel top and bottom with the button and therefore have a much bigger useable screen. The newer ones also have cordless charging facility.

Personally and since it has all the things that are important to me, I'm very happy with my iPhone 8.

I've just bought another Android phone for my brother though and I'm very impressed with it. This has most of the facilities of the iPhone 10 and 11 with the advantage of expandable memory and a rather large battery, plus face recognition to add to the fingerprint scanner. Very reasonably priced too, at £200+VAT.
It is the Motorola G8 Plus. "Hello Moto!" Bought a folio cover for it for less than £7 plus VAT, which will protect its screen and case from drops and scratches, but no more. For a value/performance ratio I think it is really excellent. Runs Android9 'Pie' but is said to be due for an upgrade to 10 any day. Not bothered if they upgrade to 10 or not as long as they do the occasional security upgrade, as needed.

The other advantage is that it isn't an iPhone!

I've just got a G7plus, which seems good.
One little 'bug' is that if you switch it off or reboot, it doesn't work fully till you've unlocked it again - most annoying!

All phones should be like that, for your security. Certainly all phones I’ve had in the last decade have been set to do so. The advantage with the Moto is that it can be unlocked in so many ways, all of which I set up for my brother.

1. Pin code

2. Pattern

3. Fingerprint

4. Face recognition.

The last two work instantly.
Also the camera starts up almost instantly even if the phone is locked, just by twisting your wrist twice.

I've no idea why you would turn either the security features or the easy phone access off, but each to their own.

In any case, my involvement with the phone came to an end after setting it up and installing the necessary apps and updates. All of his existing stuff off the failed Nokia 2.1 was transferred to the phone from the Cloud in today's 'normal' way. I never bothered looking at the Moto app with its apparent extra gesture controls and lord knows what else. That is up to the user should he want to.

Are you quite sure that you can't enable notifications in the system settings? I ask because for the most part Moto uses fairly untouched bog-standard Android without a layer on top. As I said, I only set the thing up and had a good play with it before handing it over, so I can't really comment on the nitty gritty details of daily use, only that one can usually customise notifications in many different ways to display or not and sound or not and in banners that persist or not.

<<I understand that this is annoying for you. Unfortunately it is not possible to switch it off in general phone's settings. Only way is to download some launcher or another third party application which allows you to modify lock screen, but we cannot guarantee that will work. >>
Notifications work fine once I have unlocked for the 1st time, even when it locks again, just not after reboot.
