I currently have an Isuzu D-Max 2.5 Utah and I will be looking to change it. But I don't want another Isuzu due to the very poor experience with main dealer and Isuzu UK's attitude. I also want to ensure that I am out of this vehicle before the know engine issues start accuring. I am also not convinced the continued reduction of engine side to a 1.9 is of benefit when towing.

So I was wondering what the rest of the farming community is now steering towards as to what their opinions are of what the Best New Pick-Up Truck would be?

It depends what you want it for!
I’ve just bought a standard cab l200 4 life which is fine for what it is but it’s not comparable with a top of the range double cabs which are probably twice the price

Trouble is you either have the basic model for the farm or posh model as a replacement car, the older models did both jobs. All to americanised for me now, i will keep my old truck for farm work and buy a new car next rather than run one multi purpose vehicle

Pick ups are all getting too big , need a crane to lift anything in the back and parking in towns is a nightmare. Proper everyday farm use trucks arent made anymore
Just thinking the same

Cracking wildlife programme on the Equator the other night and they are all running Toyota Landcruiser pickups. Tragedy we can't get them here as I'm convinced they'd be the replacement for a Defender especially with a backy tray

there is a certain amount of nonsense about when folk talk about global warming and carbon footprint and vehicles get more powerful in the seventies the farm truck was either a mini or moggy thou if you wanted to tow a landi now the trucks are pushing 150 to 200 hp at the moment we have a mitsy a ford and the latest is a izuzu as far as after sales goes its down to the dealer more than the make

I’ve an l200 on loan as the shogun has broken again. The auto version I had last time is the best pick up I’ve driven. This manual one is terrible! Also, minor point but the handsfree is so quiet you can’t use it
