Which plough

Hi I've got the chance of two ploughs. I'm new to match ploughing so will welcome any advice.
Both ploughs will be on a massey ferguson 135 .
Both are ransomes ts 59. One has kristeel yl165 mouldboards skimmers and discs and depth wheel and a winding cross shaft. The other has yl 183 boards depth wheel skimmers and discs but no adjustable cross shaft.
Which plough would suit a beginner best.
Thanks for all your help and advice in advance.
Thanks Robert

Its only really a minor thing, useful for adjusting the price! You will get nowhere with 165 on the wider, deeper classic work.

Its ok to get going with YL's but on balance they are no match for TCN's. Get going with the YL's then TCN's will fit the same legs. In time if you get a 35 the YL's can be used in the vintage class. Better looking at them than looking for them!

In a nutshell you have a classic tractor and neither of the two ploughs you have been offered will take you very far in their present setup in the classic class. You will either have to convert them to TCNs or revert to an older tractor (35, International 250/275,Dexta for example) and plough in vintage.
