Sorry to be negative but I have been very disappointed with mine.

Maybe what I should have said is it willdo 300 acres but probably literally fall to pieces doing it and struggle to make a good job of 3 acres no matter how you set it

What model do you have ?
How old is it ?
Did you buy it new ?
What is the issue you have had with it ?
You've not give much info as to what has fallen to pieces

Be raking for claas 800 forager, mower is 9ft but will be spreading grass out, so when first cut really heavy I can row up using 3/4 width of rake say. Our first cut this year was late this yr and putting 2 9fts into one with lely rotonde was plenty for the chopper. Pick up reel is 2.2m I do think claass will be the best but is dearest.

Lely rotonde bring me out in a sweat a guy used to row his grass up for me to bale with 1 he made more lumps than a hay Bob, best thing he ever did was trade it for a LAL pottinger twin rotor

We run a class 2700. Leaves a really even swath for the forager and being variable width is a benefit for different quantities of grass to keep the swath the right size. Never had a single issue with it. Krone is a good comparison if you have a dealer near.

What do you use behind the 2700? That is the model im thinking of. Does it do single rotor lift or do I need to put pipe on myself? I dont want any fancy control boxes just to keepmit simple

We have a Claas 800 with a 3meter pickup. We feel the rake is well matched to the forager. We did use it for the first season in front of a Claas 75 which had a narrow pickup and had no issues. We asked the dealer to plumb a second pipe from the ram so we use a different spool for each side. Simple and great to use.
