It is for the UK navy. I always assumed they were for show only!! Only the USA has the appropriate number and type of vessels and more importantly financial clout to operate Carrier Battle Groups. Hey ho, be good if as a country we could spend the money on mending roads and potholes but that would be too sensible.

If you think the UK can build the odd white elephant or two check out the US navies Zumwalt-class destroyers . As you might guess they can do it bigger and better.:banghead:

would be the keelhauling of one tony bliar:whistle::whistle::whistle::whistle::whistle::whistle::whistle::whistle::whistle:
TBF there is a pretty long list of so called leaders who could be justifiablely keel hauled.

In another age they were used to promote British tech ( l know that it was futile!) but now we spend billions on American aircraft that seemingly don’t have the capacity to protect their own carrier. Therefore, now the argument presumably goes, we need to spend billions more on up grading the escorting battle group. To do what? Help with the blockade of Yemen? Thwart Communist expansion in the sout China sea? We have to be kidding.
