Put 60 in last Wednesday with July/ august born calves. They were eating as much outside as they would in. There on slats so there’s no straw cost and weve got the muck to spread, saves a bit more grass for ewes.
spring calves are still all out on rough ground and will hopefully stay out till December.

Cows are out and staying there. Shifted onto a fresh section yesterday with a bale of hay to buffer them as well

Bloody hell
It's not good this time at all.... Grass is really moving on so sheep have come on early and all my reseeds are absolutely flying but it has gone from a paving slab to a swamp in just a few weeks here, even the bike is leaving dirty marks on the ground as if it were mid December so there is no comfort other than that this year. I'm very unsure if I will have enough fodder to see them through.

A little, thank you. I always have a good carry over from the years before wrapped hay and such, I've just held a few more heifers back this time to bull so they may end up going to mart which would be a shame as they are some of the best I've had for a while and be the last of the BlueX bloodline I've had from sometime now
