You could have done with that for the linseed!
It was in July that a friend of mine rang up and persuaded me to buy it, as the seller thought my friend was the one to have it. He hadn’t even got a tractor to put it on!
Come to think of it, it was roughly about the time I picked it up that the sh!te hit the fan weather-wise and the Linseed started going flat onto the deck.
Ironically, since this cold weather has arrived, finally getting me to fix it to a tractor, it has stoped raining and the fields have dried out enough to actually see something green growing on them for a change.

Maybe I should have made that fixing frame as soon as I had got the snow-plough home and then harvesting the Linseed would have been a doddle.

……..I have lost a lot of sleep over that fecking crop and it has taken a lot of getting over.
The thing that got me over it is realising that I will never, ever grow it again!

Painted the tractor frame-work today and will be fixing back on the tractor tomorrow.
Then it can f’ing snow!!

Went through that decision maklng process decades ago... The only thing making it acceptable to plough under that year, was the ridiculous subs at the time! ;)

No snow but -5°C last night. Went to local dealers this afternoon and nearly ran into the back of a pickup at the junction, road was a sheet of ice and van seemed to speed up when I tried to slow down. Wasn't going fast as it is a give way and there were cars in front of me. I thought there was plenty of room but that soon ran out and I ended up sideways on the wrong side of the road.
Could see another car coming behind me so put my hazards on to try and warn them. Looked like they were going really slow anyway but they hit the back of my van with a fair old wallop.
Young lady in the car, very apologetic said her brakes had failed and she couldn't stop, hadn't even figured out it was ice. Understandable really as it was a lovely sunny day and most ice had melted and it had nearly caught me out.

Anyway we exchanged details, I said it looked ok but would have to look underneath to see properly. Got home, opened the back doors and there's a big crack in my bumper. Gave it a lot of thought but decided if it was claimed on insurance then both our premiums would go up in order to pay some garage a ridiculously over inflated repair bill. If I asked for cash it would leave her short just before Christmas, she had two kids in the car and one was a few months old at most.
I figured I have a lot to be thankful for in life anyway, nobody was hurt and most especially her kids, could just as easily have been me a few moments earlier so I rang her and said just forget about it and wished her well. Missus wasn't so happy until I asked how she would feel if it was her that had done it and how much it would mean to her if she got the same.
What goes around comes around.

Some of my child labour days were spent cutting Kale and loading onto a flat bogie to then gripe into the byre for the dairy cows. Days like this i thought my hands would drop off with the cold. :ROFLMAO:
used to get paid 2p per net of swedes pulled and trimmed.

on a hard frost needed a spade to lift them.

Do you carry any extra weight on the rear ?
I’ve never used it yet to know If I’ll need to.
The plough also came with a brand new never been used small Sulky fertiliser spinner to use with Rock salt,
which I’ll probably sell as it is far too small.

I do also use that tractor with a Vicon wag tail to apply Supplementary bird feed. It would carry a lot more salt I I wanted to do it that way. Just run the PTO very slowly so it does go too wide. Or take the spout off.
